 Niigata Uonuma Shiozawa Koshihikari rice is born in the Shiozawa area of Japan’s famed Uonuma region – a place where rice farming is not just a livelihood, but a craft perfected over generations. Here, the winter snow piles high, and when spring comes, the meltwater trickles down from the mountains, crystal clear and rich in minerals. Combined with fertile soil and a cool, temperate climate, this environment shapes a grain that is simply unmatched in taste and texture.

Koshihikari is revered in Japan for its gentle sweetness, delicate aroma, and perfect balance of stickiness – a quality that makes it ideal for sushi, yet equally at home in comforting bowls of steamed rice or elegant Japanese side dishes.
